Welcome to the Department of Turkish Language and Literature

The department was founded by Prof. Dr. Şükrü ELÇİN under the faculty of Letters (Faculty of Social and Administrative Sciences) in 1969. Since 1975, it has continued to conduct research within B.A., M.A., and PhD degrees. Research is also conducted within B.A., M.A., PhD degrees in the department of Turkish Folklore founded by Prof. Dr. Dursun YILDIRIM in connection with the department of Turkish Language and Literature. The Department composed of sections such as Modern Turkish Literature, Classical Turkish Literature, Turkish Language, and Turkish Folklore continues to conduct its research with 46 staff members including 22 research assistants.
